Product Description
The Omelon ALA Mask 13 % is a Korean clinical‑grade sheet mask designed for photodynamic therapy (PDT) protocols. Each mask is saturated with 13 % 5‑aminolevulinic acid (ALA), a recognised photosensitiser used in non‑invasive LED treatments for acne and seborrheic skin. PDT leverages this photosensitiser in combination with specific light wavelengths to selectively modulate sebaceous glands and reduce bacteria, and it has been cleared by regulators as a safe and effective option for acne management.
Key benefits
- High‑potency ALA concentration: Formulated with 13 % 5‑aminolevulinic acid, this mask provides a potent yet controlled level of photosensitiser for predictable PDT outcomes. The high ALA load supports marked sebum control and enhances the efficacy of LED‑based protocols.
- Steroid‑free safety: The formulation is completely free of steroids, making it suitable for repeated or continuous use on sensitive and acne‑prone skin.
- Dermatologically considerate: The base formulation is designed to minimise irritation. Allantoin soothes and calms the skin while lecithin supports barrier recovery and helps reduce inflammatory responses.
- Universal suitability: Appropriate for all skin types, including sensitive and acne‑prone complexions
Active and supporting ingredients
- Active Ingredients: 13 % 5‑aminolevulinic acid (ALA) for targeted sebum regulation; Allantoin for skin calming; Lecithin to alleviate inflammation.
- Supporting Ingredients: Water, alcohol, butylene glycol and glycerin provide a stable base. The formula also incorporates aloe barbadensis leaf juice, hydrolysed pea protein, squalane, shea butter, ceramide 3, salicylic acid and other emollients and humectants to maintain hydration and integrity.
Professional use guidelines
Instructions for acne treatment
- Cleansing – Begin with a thorough cleanse to remove make‑up, oil and debris from the skin.
- Acne treatment – Perform preparatory treatments such as a gentle skin scrub or medicine pen, and carry out extractions as needed. Extractions should always be done by a professional to minimise the risk of scarring or infection.
- Apply ALA mask – Place the ALA mask evenly over the treatment area and leave it on for approximately 15–25 minutes to allow the photosensitiser to absorb. To enhance penetration, the protocol suggests occlusion or “incubation” by wrapping.
- OMEGA LED Light activation – After removing the mask, expose the treated area to blue LED light at around 423 nm wavelength. This wavelength activates the ALA and targets acne‑causing bacteria.
- Soothing pack – Apply a rubber or modeling mask to calm and hydrate
- Final care – Finish by applying a moisturising cream and sunscreen. Sunscreen is essential because ALA‑treated skin is more sensitive to light.
Instructions after laser procedure
- Cooling and soothing – Immediately post‑laser, focus on cooling and soothing the skin to reduce redness and heat.
- OMEAGA LED Infra‑red (IR) light mode – Use an Omega light device in IR mode. The protocol notes that red wavelengths (~640 nm) are applied for at least 10 minutes. Green (532 nm) or yellow (583 nm) light may also be used depending on the severity and type of skin condition.
- Soothing pack – Apply a rubber or modeling mask to aid recovery.
- Final care – Finish with a moisturising cream and sunscreen. Post‑treatment sunscreen helps prevent hyperpigmentation.
